Dartmouth Fishing Again
Dartmouth Fishing Again after a short break to accomodate my summer holiday. It was a fine day when I set off for Brixham to pick up Mike and make the trip to Noss Marina. After much delay I believe that Noss Marina has finally got the go ahead to develop the site so our currnet berth could start to look quite different in the future.
We slipped our moorings and headed down the Dart intending to have a short inshore fishing trip. We had noticed recently our Navman Trackfish 6500 had been slow to pick up its satelite links and today proved the same. Still we could find our way with our eyes closed to where we we going so we were not unduly worried.
The sea was relatively calm and the weather warm with a light breeze and the sea slight as we headed out of the mouth of the Dart.
A numer of small boats were out and talking to them there was evidence of a few small Bass about.
After driftng over several marks Mike eventually landed a nice Pollack but as he already had enough in the freezer this fish headed back into the water to fight another day.
We did however discover the Navman had completely given up the ghost on the GPS side. The fishfinder sonar was working but the sat nav side still showed us moored in the Dart.
We returned after our pleasent trip to Noss where our Navman suggested we had been moored all the time! If anyone has had a similar problem with their Navman it would be good to hear from you.
