Steve arrived in his convertible sports car, after negotiating road work diversions and we set off in calm weather for the Noss marina and the boat. With the tide tables on our side for a change the typical fisherman’s optimism raised our spirits, but that wasn’t to last!
We arrived at the boat, did our normal checks and routines before setting off for a wreck if the sea conditions would allow. It takes about 20 minutes …

At last we have a calm, windless day to go fishing! So we came back with a bucket load of fish yes? Nope, we didn’t catch a thing. Not even a bite, well except for Steve’s son Adrian. As soon as he gets on board he has a bite, but that’s only into his Mums sandwiches! For such a skinny man he can’t half eat!

After nearly 3 weeks of foul weather we decided to take Blue Marlin II off the moorings and down the Dart to the fuel barge to re fuel. We do not like leaving her so long between trips but the last 3 weeks have been really foul with strong and gale force easterly winds which cause the worst sea state around Dartmouth.
